Shots fired during interview with Ferguson police chief

In the US city of Ferguson, gunfire has erupted on the one year anniversary of the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown by a white police officer.

Shots rang out on Sunday night as local television station KMOV was in the middle of an interview with Ferguson police chief Andre Anderson.

Protesters who had gathered in the street fled in multiple directions, hiding behind cars and taking cover in buildings.

A body could be seen on West Florissant Avenue and a young woman screamed that her brother had been shot. It remains unclear where the shots came from.
